Final Christmas

Yesterday we had the older Muir boys and their girlfriends over for a late Christmas celebration.  The highlight of the day-for Nate-was train tracks.  The highlight of the day-for the adults-was the drink mixing supplies.

Yesterday it rained most of the morning and was an overall cool day (about 60 degrees).  Nate still insisted on playing outside, but once he stepped out the door he said "I need my coat Mama."  So we got his coat and put his Crocs on and this is what he looked like running around the backyard.  What can a girl do?

Vacation Fun

We spent this last week in Minnesota and Wisconsin celebrating my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary, my cousin Kate's wedding, and general Christmas fun.  We packed a lot of stuff into six days.  We spent a lot of time playing with our cousin Reilly playing trains, swimming, going to the aquarium, and spending time at his house.  Nate had a blast and on the plane home he kept asking where Anna and Reilly were and if we were going to their house.  We also spent some quality time at my parents house where we helped Denyse in some of her never ending projects and went sledding in the little bit of snow there was.  I think she was pleased with the results.

 
             
 

 
 

Twizzler Thief

T.J.'s favorite candy (or one of them) is Twizzlers.  He got a package of them in his stocking for Christmas.  After he opened them he left them on the counter, apparently within baby reach, and this is what happened-

Our Christmas

Due to some family parties this coming weekend I had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas day.  Because of that we celebrated Christmas on Friday with the boys, T.J., and I.  Nate loved it, but would get distracted by the presents he had already opened.  Hudson really enjoyed the wrapping paper.  All in all we had a fun day with caramel rolls to top it off.  Delicious!

Christmastime

Yesterday, during Hudson's morning nap, Nate and I finally built the gingerbread house from the kit I bought at Walmart.  Nate had a good time putting the candies on the house, and sampling the candies for quality control.

Finally I had to share my new favorite Christmas decoration.  I ordered these from a woman on Etsy and I absolutely love them!

Fun Times at the Hommer/Schroeder Apartment

This past week T.J. was out of town for work for the whole week.  In order to break up some of the monotony of being home with two boys by myself I decided to trek to San Antonio.  Laura was in the middle of her finals week, but assured me that if I came Thursday and stayed until Friday I wouldn't be bothering her studying too much.  So that's what we did.  On the way there I stopped by the post office to pick up a package my mother had sent with Christmas gifts in it.  The package was so large I couldn't fit it in my trunk.  I did manage to fit it in the back seat and off we went.  When we arrived I found out Laura had talked to my mom, who gave permission to open the Christmas gifts.  These were the two favorite gifts:

This is a set of Cars themed Legos.  Mitch kept trying to get Nate to build the set, but Nate wasn't having it.

We had fun hanging out in the apartment and Hudson showed off his new skills.  He can now sit up on his own and he can scoot around some.  Laura tried to make Nate a Packer's fan.  He did enjoy the cheesehead, but I'm not sure she is done working on it.
